Tithing

Tithing is something that is seemingly either talked about too much in some churches or rarely if ever in others. This morning I was reading a devotional by Larry Stockstill and it had some great points that I found interesting and thought I would share. It reminded me of what tithing is all about!
1. Our tithe has always belonged to God.
"Our understanding must change if we are to see that the tithe already belongs to the Lord. When we return it to Him, we are not giving. In fact, if it already belongs to Him, we are actually robbing God if we use the tithe or spend it! "
2. God knew that He would need Your tithe for such a time as this!
"Another aspect of the tithe is that it belongs to the Lord as His advance provision. In Mark 11:3, the little donkey was there by God's prophetic command (Zechariah 9:9), marked out centuries before as provision for what the King would need in that generation. "
I love it! God marked out centuries ago that He would use Jon and Karen Mitchell's tithe to bless others in this generation! Awesome!
